RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Thank you for choosing INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR Car Rental. Please read the following Rental Terms and Conditions carefully before collecting your vehicle.

1. INCLUSIONS

The rental price includes:
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
• Theft Waiver (THW)
• Third Party Liability (TPL)
• Roadside Assistance
• VAT

1. DRIVER'S AGE

The minimum driver age is 21 years.
Some larger, Premium, Luxury and Sports vehicle groups may have additional age requirements or restrictions.
The maximum driver age is 70 years.

1. DRIVER'S LICENCE

Standard Vehicle Groups
To rent Small, Economy and Compact vehicle groups, the driver must have a full and valid driving licence that has been held for at least six months before the rental starts.
Luxury, Premium and Sports Vehicles
To rent Luxury, Premium and Sports vehicles, the driver must have a full and valid driving licence that has been held for at least two years before the rental starts.
The driving licence must be valid and must not have any major restrictions or endorsements that prevent the driver from legally driving the rented vehicle.
A valid ID card or passport is also required at the time of vehicle collection.

1. GCC DRIVERS

Renters from GCC countries may use their valid GCC driving licence, subject to applicable requirements.
The renter must provide a valid GCC passport or GCC Resident Card, together with the required driving licence and identification documents.

1. INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS

National Driving Licences Accepted Without an International Driving Permit (IDP)
Customers from the following countries may use their valid national driving licence without an International Driving Permit:
Albania, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China (with official translation), Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA and UAE.
All Other Countries
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is mandatory for drivers from countries not listed above.
The IDP must be valid and must always be presented together with the driver's original domestic driving licence.
Important Notes
• The IDP must be valid for the rental period.
• The renter must always carry the original domestic driving licence together with the IDP.
• The name on the IDP must correspond with the renter's original driving licence and identification documents.
• A Chinese national driving licence must be accompanied by an officially accepted translation.

1. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT PICKUP

The renter must provide the following documents when collecting the vehicle:

1. Valid passport.
2. Original valid driving licence corresponding to the booking.
3. International Driving Permit, where required.
4. Credit card in the main renter's name.
5. Booking voucher or rental confirmation.

If the customer cannot provide the required documents at the time of pickup, or does not meet the rental requirements, INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR may cancel the rental.
Any refund will be subject to the applicable booking and cancellation terms.

1. INSURANCE COVERAGE

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
CDW is included in the rental price.
CDW reduces the customer's financial responsibility for covered vehicle damage to the applicable damage excess.
The CDW excess depends on the vehicle group.
The insurance excess amount is OMR 150 to OMR 500, depending on the vehicle group.
Immobilisation Charge
An Immobilisation Charge is payable in the event of an accident.
This charge is additional to the applicable damage excess and is compulsory where applicable.
The charge is calculated according to the vehicle group and the number of days required to repair the vehicle.
If the vehicle is not returned by the agreed return time, additional rental charges may apply and the applicable rental protection may be affected, subject to the terms of the rental agreement and insurance policy.

1. THEFT WAIVER (THW)

Theft Waiver is included in the rental price.
It reduces the customer's financial responsibility in the event of loss or theft of the rented vehicle to the applicable theft excess, subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
The theft excess depends on the vehicle group and ranges from OMR 150 to OMR 500.

1. THIRD PARTY LIABILITY (TPL)

The rented vehicle includes Third Party Liability insurance.
The TPL coverage is limited to EUR 50,000 for injuries and property damage caused to third parties in an accident, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the applicable insurance policy.

1. DAMAGE COVERAGE

Collision Damage Waiver
If the vehicle bodywork is damaged, the maximum amount the customer will pay for covered repairs under CDW is the applicable damage excess.
CDW is only valid when the renter follows the Rental Terms and Conditions.
CDW does not cover certain parts of the vehicle, including:
• Glass and windscreens
• Tyres and wheels
• Interior
• Roof
• Undercarriage
• Vehicle accessories
• Personal belongings
• Towing and recovery charges
• Off-road use
• Other items excluded under this agreement or the applicable insurance policy

1. THEFT PROTECTION

Theft Protection covers the rented vehicle in the event of theft, subject to the applicable theft excess and the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
If the vehicle is stolen, seriously damaged or involved in an accident with another party, the renter must contact INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR and the police immediately.
If the required police documents are not provided, the renter may become responsible for the full cost of repairing or replacing the vehicle, subject to applicable law and the insurance policy.

1. LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PERSONAL BELONGINGS

INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings left inside the vehicle during or after the rental.

1. ITEMS NOT COVERED

Unless otherwise stated, CDW and Theft Protection do not cover loss, theft or damage to:
• Keys
• Aerials
• Jack
• Safety triangles and safety vests
• Windscreen wipers
• Fuel cap
• Luggage covers
• Vehicle accessories
• Other fixed or removable equipment supplied with the vehicle
Applicable replacement or repair charges may apply.

1. ACCIDENT, DAMAGE OR THEFT – IMPORTANT

In the event of an accident, damage or theft:

1. Contact the Royal Oman Police immediately on 9999.
2. Contact INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR immediately.
3. Obtain the required police report.
4. Do not agree to settle any claim with another party without first contacting INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR.
5. Provide INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR with all documents and assistance required for the insurance claim.

A police report is mandatory in the event of an accident, damage or theft.
Failure to report the incident properly may affect the customer's protection under this agreement and may result in additional liability.

1. IMPORTANT INSURANCE CONDITIONS
2. The renter must immediately report any accident, damage or theft to the police and INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR.
3. The renter must keep the vehicle keys and documents safe and must return them to INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR when required. Failure to provide the keys or documents may affect the applicable protection and may result in additional charges.
4. The renter must provide all assistance and information required by INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR to process an insurance claim.
5. The renter must not enter into a settlement or agreement with another party without first consulting INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR.
6. If damage is caused while the customer is driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance that affects their ability to drive, the customer will be responsible for the actual repair cost and the rental charges for the period the vehicle is being repaired.
7. The renter must follow all traffic laws and use the vehicle properly.
8. Off-road and reckless driving are strictly prohibited.
9. The renter is responsible for damage caused by misuse, negligence, loss, theft, confiscation or any other use outside the coverage provided by the applicable insurance policy.
10. Any amount due from the renter may be charged where a police report or technical report establishes that the damage resulted from the renter's error, negligence or failure to properly care for the vehicle.
11. Insurance does not cover damage to the windscreen, side windows, rear window, tyres, rims or vehicle interior accessories.
12. SUPER COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (SCDW)

SCDW is an optional product available at the rental desk for eligible vehicle groups.
In the event of an accident, SCDW reduces the applicable CDW excess by 50%, subject to its terms and exclusions.
SCDW Charges
Eligible vehicle groups:
OMR 10 per day. (EDAV, CDAV, IDAV, SDAV, CFAV)

Eligible vehicle groups:
OMR 25 per day. (IFAV, FFBV, XFND)

Eligible vehicle groups:
OMR 40 per day OFBV, XFDV, XFBV, PDAV)

SCDW is not available for Economy Elite and Luxury Convertible vehicle groups.
SCDW may not cover glass, tyres, wheels, accessories or other excluded items.
A police report is mandatory in the event of an accident or damage.

1. FEES

Airport Surcharge
Airport surcharge is not included in the rental price.
Additional charges will apply.
Traffic Fines and Violations
The renter is responsible for all traffic violations and penalties incurred during the rental period, including speeding, illegal parking and other traffic offences.
INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR may charge the renter for the applicable fine and any related administrative costs.
The renter also agrees to pay reasonable expenses incurred by INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR in connection with civil or criminal cases arising from incidents that occurred while the vehicle was in the renter's possession, where permitted by applicable law.
Vehicle Registration Documents
The renter must return the original vehicle registration documents provided with the vehicle.
If the original documents are lost, stolen, withdrawn by an authority or damaged while in the renter's possession, applicable replacement and administrative charges will apply.
Early Termination
If the renter ends the rental before the agreed return date, the original rental rate may no longer apply.
Unused rental days are non-refundable, subject to the applicable booking terms.
Vehicle Stickers
Removing or damaging vehicle stickers may result in an additional charge.
Vehicle Cleaning
The renter must return the vehicle in a reasonably clean condition, both inside and outside.
The vehicle must be free from:
• Excessive dirt
• Sand
• Stains
• Pet hair
• Rubbish
• Strong odours
Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
Eating and drinking inside the vehicle should be avoided.
A cleaning fee will apply if the vehicle requires additional cleaning due to excessive dirt, sand, stains, pet hair, rubbish, smoking or other conditions beyond normal use.
Lost Keys
If the vehicle keys are lost or damaged, the renter will be responsible for the applicable replacement, programming, recovery and related costs.
Electronic Sticker
Removing or damaging the electronic sticker from the front windscreen may result in an additional charge.
Child Seats
A charge will apply for lost or damaged child seats.
Child seats are subject to availability.

1. NO-SHOW AND NON-COLLECTION

No refund will be provided for a vehicle that is not collected, collected late or returned early, subject to the applicable booking terms.
If the customer does not collect the vehicle at the agreed pickup time without cancelling the reservation according to the applicable cancellation policy, the reservation may be treated as a No-Show.
Any applicable no-show charge will be applied according to the booking terms.

1. RENTAL PERIOD AND RETURN POLICY

Rental Rates
Rental charges are calculated on a 24-hour basis according to the agreed pickup and return times.
Pickup / Delivery Grace Period
The customer should arrive at the agreed pickup time.
If the customer expects to be late, they should contact INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR at least one hour before the scheduled pickup time, including in case of a flight delay.
If the customer does not collect the vehicle at the agreed pickup time, the vehicle may no longer be available and the applicable no-show or cancellation policy may apply.
Return Grace Period
A 1-hour grace period applies to vehicle return.
After the grace period, additional rental charges may apply.

1. PRICE CALCULATION

Rental prices are based on the pickup and return dates and times agreed at the beginning of the rental.
If the customer picks up the vehicle later or returns it earlier, no refund will be provided for unused rental time unless otherwise stated in the applicable booking terms.
If the customer chooses a different vehicle at pickup, an additional charge may apply depending on the vehicle selected.

1. EARLY RETURNS / UNUSED RENTAL DAYS

No partial or full refund will normally be provided for:
• Early return
• Unused rental days
• Late collection
• No-show
• Cancellation after the rental has started
• Unused optional extras
This is subject to the applicable booking and cancellation terms.

1. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

24/7 roadside assistance is available for rental vehicles.
The relevant contact details and roadside assistance procedures will be provided before the rental starts.
In the event of a vehicle breakdown, INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR will provide reasonable roadside assistance and, where possible, arrange a replacement vehicle as soon as reasonably possible, subject to availability.
The renter must not attempt to repair the vehicle without prior approval from INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR.

1. FUEL POLICY

The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as provided at pickup.
The fuel level will be recorded at the start of the rental.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel:
• The missing fuel will be charged.
• A refuelling/service fee will also apply.
Unused fuel is not refundable.
The renter is responsible for using the correct fuel type for the vehicle.
If the wrong fuel is used, the renter will be responsible for the reasonable costs of recovery, cleaning, repair and any related charges.

1. MILEAGE

Rentals of 1–29 Days
The rental includes 200 km per day.
Rentals of 30 Days or More
The rental includes 4,000 km per 30-day period.
Additional mileage will be charged according to the applicable rental rate.

1. CROSS-BORDER TRAVEL

Cross-border travel is allowed only with prior written permission from INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR.
Additional insurance and fees may apply because the local insurance coverage may not apply outside Oman.
Not all vehicles are permitted to cross the border.
Border Documents and Fees
The required border documents and NOC must be obtained before leaving Oman.
Minimum charges:
• OMR 36.750 minimum for border crossing / NOC-WEEKLY
• OMR 157.500 minimum for border crossing / NOC-MONTHLY
Additional insurance or other charges may apply depending on the destination and vehicle.
The renter must obtain written approval before travelling outside Oman.

1. OFF-ROAD DRIVING

Off-road driving and reckless driving are strictly prohibited.
The renter is responsible for damage caused by off-road or reckless driving.

1. FERRY TRAVEL

Taking the rented vehicle on a ferry is allowed only with prior written permission from INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR.
Damage that occurs during loading, unloading or while the vehicle is on the ferry may not be covered.
Additional fees or insurance requirements may apply.
Please obtain written approval from INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR before taking the vehicle on a ferry.

1. VAT

VAT is included in the rental price where stated.
Applicable VAT will be charged on optional extras, additional services and other taxable charges in accordance with the VAT laws and regulations of the Sultanate of Oman.

1. PAYMENT METHODS AND SECURITY DEPOSIT

The accepted payment cards are:
• MasterCard
• Visa
• American Express
The payment card must be in the main renter's name.
The card must be valid for at least 3 months after the rental return date.
Virtual payment cards are not accepted unless specifically approved by INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR.
Using another person's credit or debit card, including a family member's card, is not permitted.
Security Deposit
Credit and debit cards are accepted for the security deposit.
Cash deposits are not accepted.
A refundable deposit of OMR 150 to OMR 500, depending on the vehicle group, will be held or pre-authorised on the renter's payment card at the start of the rental.
The deposit will normally remain blocked until the vehicle has been returned and all necessary checks and outstanding charges have been completed.
The release of the deposit may take up to 30 business days.
The actual time for the funds to become available may depend on the customer's bank or card issuer.
The deposit may be used to cover amounts properly due under the Rental Agreement, including damage, fuel, traffic fines, cleaning, excess mileage, lost keys, missing equipment or other applicable charges.

1. CURRENCY CONVERSION

If a payment is processed in a currency other than Omani Rial, the final amount shown on the customer's card statement may differ because of currency conversion rates or fees applied by the customer's bank or card issuer.
INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR is not responsible for exchange-rate differences applied by the customer's bank or card provider.

1. DELIVERY AND COLLECTION

Vehicle delivery and collection services are available on request.
Additional charges will apply.
The applicable charge will be confirmed before the service is provided.

1. OUT-OF-HOURS SERVICE

Out-of-hours pickup and return services may be available.
Additional charges may apply.
Please confirm availability and charges with INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR before the service is requested.

1. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

Special equipment and optional extras are subject to availability.
A request for special equipment does not guarantee availability unless it has been confirmed by INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR.
Additional charges may apply.

1. VEHICLE CONDITION AND DAMAGE

The vehicle may be inspected and photographed before and after the rental.
The renter should check the vehicle at pickup and immediately inform INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR if any existing damage is not recorded.
The renter is responsible for any new damage caused during the rental period, subject to the applicable CDW, insurance and exclusions.
INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR may use photographs, inspection reports, police reports, technical reports and repair estimates to assess damage.

1. AUTHORISED USE OF THE VEHICLE

Only the renter and authorised additional drivers may drive the vehicle.
The renter must use the vehicle responsibly and in accordance with:
• These Rental Terms and Conditions;
• Applicable traffic laws;
• Insurance requirements;
• INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR instructions.
The renter must not remove, disconnect, damage or interfere with any GPS, IVMS or tracking equipment installed in the vehicle.

1. TRAFFIC AND OTHER CHARGES AFTER RETURN

The renter remains responsible for traffic fines, parking charges, tolls and other charges relating to the rental period even if they are received by INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR after the vehicle has been returned.
INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR may charge the renter for these amounts in accordance with the Rental Agreement.

1. PERSONAL BELONGINGS

INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle.
Customers should check the vehicle carefully and remove all personal belongings before returning it.

1. CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

By signing the Rental Agreement, accepting the vehicle, completing an online booking or taking possession of the vehicle, the renter confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Rental Terms and Conditions.
The renter agrees to comply with all applicable laws, insurance requirements and INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR rental conditions.

1. IMPORTANT NOTICE

The terms and conditions applicable to a confirmed reservation are those provided to the customer at the time of booking together with the Rental Agreement.
INTERNATIONAL RENT A CAR may update its general Rental Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will not affect the agreed terms of an existing confirmed reservation unless otherwise permitted by applicable law.
